GNA - Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant

 


Location: Baltimore, MD, Multiple locations

Job Type: Contract

Compensation: $19 - $22/Hr.

Hours: Full Time

Job Description : 

 

  • As a nursing staff assistant, you will be responsible for providing daily assistance to residents. Here are some of the duties that you will be expected to perform:
  • Aid residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, oral care, and other basic needs
  • Conduct vital signs check at the beginning of each shift and as required 
  • Respond to residents' calls for assistance and observe changes in their emotional state, behavior, or physical condition
  • Complete all required documentation promptly
  • Assist in transport of residents when necessary
  • Provide companionship to residents
  • Ensure residents' safety is upheld
  • Encourage residents to stay active and engaged 
  • Maintain a clean and healthy living environment for residents

Qualifications:

  • Current certification and GNA license in Maryland is required
  • Positive and professional attitude is a must
  • Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility is a bonus
  • Effective communication skills are essential
  • Must remain calm and patient when interacting with residents
  • Ability to listen attentively is required
  • Must possess problem-solving skills and work well under pressure
  • Adaptable to changes in assignments
  • Ability to display empathy and compassion when interacting with residents to increase their comfort level.
