Job Description :
- As a nursing staff assistant, you will be responsible for providing daily assistance to residents. Here are some of the duties that you will be expected to perform:
- Aid residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, oral care, and other basic needs
- Conduct vital signs check at the beginning of each shift and as required
- Respond to residents' calls for assistance and observe changes in their emotional state, behavior, or physical condition
- Complete all required documentation promptly
- Assist in transport of residents when necessary
- Provide companionship to residents
- Ensure residents' safety is upheld
- Encourage residents to stay active and engaged
- Maintain a clean and healthy living environment for residents
Qualifications:
- Current certification and GNA license in Maryland is required
- Positive and professional attitude is a must
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented environment
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility is a bonus
- Effective communication skills are essential
- Must remain calm and patient when interacting with residents
- Ability to listen attentively is required
- Must possess problem-solving skills and work well under pressure
- Adaptable to changes in assignments
- Ability to display empathy and compassion when interacting with residents to increase their comfort level.
